Ideas into Reality
I’ve been really putting head down and grinding away at my business and things have been moving in a very positive direction with website rankings climbing and my client list continually growing. Now that all seems great and don’t get wrong it has been so much so that I decided to look at how much my SEO agency would be worth if I decided to sell it all today. It’s not that I have any plans to actually sell it, I was just interested to see what people thought of my company and the evaluation behind it; however, after speaking with another agency owner he brings up a really good point.
At first we spoke about potential pricing and strategy, but when I gave an idea of what I thought would be fair based on the monthly revenues, overhead, and so on…. He told me that there was no way a business in my current situation could ever ask for something like this as all of my clients are tied more to the person aka myself rather the business model because yes while companies need better rankings on Google at the end of the day there are millions and millions of SEO companies out there and it’s that personal connection with that clients that’s actually driving my revenue aside from the service itself.
I thanked him for this valuable information, but upon sitting down in my office thinking about how something like could be avoided I’m just not sure how it would be done. I mean I’m heavily involved with all my clients and I do think it helps, but if I never figure this out eventually if I do want to sell I’ll run into the same problem so back to my original question which is how can I separate myself from my business when the time comes to sell?
