​Was snarky with a customer who always argues my price

They sometimes send in circuit boards for repair, sometimes they ask for repair advice as they do basic work which I always was glad to help out with and I always give repeat customers a 10-20% discount depending on the work required.

They texted “how much for X and Y repair?” I replied with my price and they came back (as usual) “why so high why not X?”

So I said “spend 4 hours on it and see if it’s repairable. If not then ask me why I charge so much”

They never responded and I honestly didn’t care in the moment, but thinking back on it now, should I have been more “professional”? Or was it warranted?
