I used to think I needed more hours in the day or a bigger budget to grow my business. Turns out I was drowning in these small decisions that were eating up my mental energy before I could tackle anything meaningful. Every morning started the same way: What should I work on first? Which email deserves a response? And by 2 pm I was mentally exhausted from decisions that had nothing to do with the actual work.
The turning point was when I started seeing decisions as limited. I grouped similar ones together and set up systems to avoid making the same choices over and over. Now I am extremely more productive and I can sort all of my work that I need to do.
I even simplified my free time. I used to burn out scrolling endlessly through social media. Now I simply go for a walk around nyc. That’s it. No more wasting mental energy on what should I do to chill. This has been one of the best decisions that I’ve made as an adult.
