This gonna trigger the right people lol , but hear me out Okay, so here’s a little rant from someone who’s been sitting quietly for too long. I’ve seen too many small business owners talk down on social media managers or the whole marketing field just because they hired one person or agency that didn’t deliver.

You tried Fiverr. You tried Upwork. You paid $5 and expected $5000 returns. It didn’t work. Cool. But now you’re out here saying “social media doesn’t work” or “SMMs are a scam”?? Nah. That’s not it.

Same with agencies maybe you got burned. Maybe they promised you the world and gave you Canva graphics with 2 likes. I get it. That sucks. But don’t generalize the whole damn industry. That’s not fair, and honestly, it’s giving “I don’t understand how marketing works”.

And if you’re out here complaining… can I see your product? Can I check your website? Can I just peek at your branding? Because 9/10, it’s giving zero effort.

Like if you’re selling fashion, or beauty, or anything oversaturated, branding is literally the only thing setting you apart. You can’t just slap a logo on a t-shirt and expect people to care. That’s not how this works anymore.

I don’t get how people start businesses without doing the bare minimum of educating themselves. Like… it’s FREE to read a book. It’s FREE to watch a 10-minute video. You don’t even have to go deep into marketing theory. Just get the basics. That’s it.

You say branding “isn’t important”? Yeah okay, that’s why there’s a whole-ass creative industry built around it, right? Just vibes?

If you want to build a brand, you NEED branding. Period. Social media management isn’t a magic wand. If you have no message, no identity, and no direction no SMM or agency can fix that for you.
