​Do customers actually use chat bot popups? Do you as a consumer ever use them?

Seems like every website and their cousin’s brother’s ex’s sister have one of those chat bots or “contact us” pop-ups in the lower right corner of their webpage. I absolutely despise them and find them quite intrusive. If I want to reach out, I will go to the “contact us” section of the web page.

I’m curious what the data shows. Are web owners getting quality contacts out of them? Are they seeing a reduction in need to provide manual support?
