So long story short, I came up with a product that didn’t exist in a market I’m intimately familiar with (a particular sport fwiw). The current market offering is truly ubiquitous, but only because nothing better exists.
Anyway, I took some time to formulate my product (still currently in R&D if you can call it that) and got to work on the business side of things.
My god… the list never ends. LLC, patent attorney, getting a business address, domain names, creating branding (critical for my product), testing my product over and over and over before I send it out to 25 beta testers, IG and TikTok content planning, website, email, pitching the product to get the word out strategically, etc etc etc.
I have an accounting background so I figured okay at least I’ll be able to handle that. Turns out tracking per unit costs and forecasting and dealing with multiple people wanting to invest and all the other stuff that goes into that even in itself takes me hours upon hours. Lol.
I’m not saying any of this to complain. I truly believe in what I’ve created and I believe if I do this right it’ll be life-changing, but man do I have a newfound respect for anyone who’s launched a business.
Seriously, hats off to any of you who’ve successfully done this.
