We had a potential customer message us on Yelp and long story short, we realized the guy was trying to get us to do an illegal service. Once we realized it, we canceled his appointment (a week prior to the appointment) and explained to him why we couldn’t do it.
He got angry and left a false bad review on our account saying that we steal from customers and we have horrible service. Of course, I disputed the review with Yelp and responded politely to this guy publicly and explained again why we couldn’t perform the service.
What does he do? Creates another Yelp account and leaves us another fake review on the same day. He HAD to get the last word in. I checked his profile and he does this to a lot of businesses.
I disputed the second review and ultimately Yelp said they won’t remove either review because they want their app to reflect true customer experiences or something. This has affected our business terribly in our busiest season. We had a near perfect score before and now people think we steal.
I’m devastated.
Is there anything I can do?
