Someone please advise me with what I should do! I started a business with a coworker at the time in August of 2022. A wax studio. We have a dba together ( we live in California ). A lot of what we got for the business we split such as wallpaper, waxing bed, shelves, curtains etc. We also have a partnership agreement but never actually filed a partnership with the state of California so I’m not sure if that means the agreement we signed isn’t valid. She is saying why would she pay me half of anything when I’m choosing to leave and then said I could take things and give her half of the money. She keeps repeating to me why would she pay me for half of something we split and I reply because I’m leaving and you’re keeping it. Then she says it’s my choice to leave and she doesn’t owe me anything. I don’t know what to do she also owes me money and is trying to deduct things we “split” but she didn’t get money for so for example a bench we got together but she paid and is keeping she is deducting half of from the tab she owes me. I’m just at a loss I didn’t know someone could be this way. Am I the one who is wrong should i just be leaving her everything or does she owe me money for it.
