My wife and I (definitely more my wife) started a small business within the children’s entertainment space with our opening coming in mid-August. My goal for the first month was to just get to $10k; our soft break even point which covers rent, loan payback, and paying 5 part time employees.
19 days after opening we are at $21k of gross revenue! It was an anxiety filled first week as we were pretty slow and the only marketing we had done were basic social media ads and various posts on local social media interest groups. Afterwards, it picked up quite a bit.
I think our next challenge is sustaining this for the next year or so before expanding our footprint. We have had a number of queries where people want to franchise or maybe invest? But that seems way too premature at this point.
Happy to answer any and all questions!
