I own a small landscaping company in Chicago, Illinois. I’ve been trying to contact a client for 6 weeks about an unpaid $1,200 bill. I just discovered that he had a massive heart attack and died last October. He was a childless widower.

Should I take the loss or pursue payment? If the latter, how?
