So I am currently working on getting into tutoring as a little side hustle to get money while in college, and I thought that a good way to get some traffic would be to advertise on Yelp. So I made an account and put my tutoring business on there on Tuesday. Today I got a call from them (which I at first thought was my first client) asking to verify my business, and after doing so I got a call from a business representative from Yelp who offered to help me set my page up. I was naive and followed his instructions, and ended up signing up for the $15 ad package, which I figured was worth the investment given that I was charging $17 an hour, I put on my Apple Pay card as I am not old enough to have a credit card (I am 17 and a high school graduate). A few hours later I was thinking about it and I decided to look into Yelp ads (something I should’ve done earlier) after learning that I would have to pay Yelp every time someone clicked on my profile, I canceled my plan with Yelp before anyone clicked on my page. Is there anything else I should do to make sure I’m not completely screwed?
