My small food business is struggling. Despite incredible reviews of our food (100+) the model isn’t working. Input costs too high, I’m in the wrong market, and I’m 140k in debt to an sba loan. Working 80hr weeks, and I don’t see a way through. If I go bankrupt, I’ll lose my cars, all the equipment, my food trailer (my partner owns our house so that would be ok-plus there’s no equity in the house bc we just bought it)..I just don’t know what to do. I don’t even have a question at this point, just need to say it ‘out loud’ I guess..

Update: so I didn’t know if anyone would respond-so here’s to answering a few questions: we sell traditional craft barbecue. This means a lot of protein = high input cost. We have menu items that start at $10 that are delicious and filling all the way up to high end items like sliced brisket. My partner is our pit master and he’s extraordinarily talented. He’s cooked with some of the best pit masters in the country and held his own. Where we have our business, there is no barbecue culture only corporate junk. We stupidly thought we could change that. Instead customers get angry if we sell out of an item, and then don’t come back.. but in barbecue, you have to sell out or the waste will kill your.. our reputation is ‘their food is delicious but they’re always busy (we’re not) or sold out (no where near enough)’.
