I run a small screen-printing business out of a 1000 sq. ft. workshop, and the summer heat is becoming a serious problem. It gets dangerously hot, productivity drops, and honestly, I feel bad asking my part-time guy to work in these conditions.

I got a quote for a commercial rooftop unit and it was nearly $10k, which is just not in the budget. I’ve been looking at ductless mini splits as a more affordable alternative. I found an 18000 BTU Costway heat pump that seems powerful enough for the space and is a fraction of the price. I already have 230V power for my equipment, so that’s not an issue.

For other small business owners with workshops or similar spaces, is a mini split a viable solution? I’m trying to figure out if it will actually keep up in a commercial environment.
