A competitor is selling niche goods online for a lot cheaper than every other vendor by at least 50%, cheaper than the manufacturer. They are also paying about 50% of the product’s cost in ads for absolutely everything, including just informative terms.
I found out about this because over the past month this product that we’ve been selling for 6 years with healthy competition, suddenly dropped 60% in sales with no change in Google keywords, trends or even just plain clicks to the product itself.
So I looked up a bit more deeper what’s going on and there is a new company that got a $3,400,000 investment funding for this relatively small niche that has about $100K monthly sales world wide for years. It doesn’t even make sense.
In 6 months their website has gone from 0 visitors to 300% of everyone else’s organic visitors with the same amount in paid traffic, according to SEMRush.
When trying to ask for additional discounts on their site, they claimed that the product is the cheapest in the world right now 100% guaranteed.
They can easily ride this for 3-5 years with 20%+ loss per sale if they want to.
They are registered in Saudi Arabia so there’s no point in messaging or looking towards legal.
Now I’ve been up for 24h because I’ve focused on this venture becoming my main income for the past 5 years and I have no clue what to do about this.
Any ideas or similar stories welcome!
