I’m in an assistant role helping run ops and admin for a logistics business with around 38 employees. Right now, we’re reevaluating a few of our tools, and travel management is one of them.

We’re not huge, but we’ve got people flying out to clients and for other business every other week, so we deal with a decent number of bookings, receipts, reimbursements, last-minute changes, and unfortunately, customer support tickets when things go wrong.

We’ve been using a mix of direct airline sites, personal credit cards, Google Sheets, and email approvals. It’s a headache but it works. As you can imagine, things go wrong pretty often and with some new clients around the corner, I’m gonna have to do a lot of manual upkeep.

I read about Navan recently in another business’ Slack. I asked my counterparts and they said it’s better to centralize travel bookings and expense reconciliation through it. Looked at their site and it says the platform handles travel booking, employee reimbursements, policy compliance, and connects to QuickBooks, which we use. I am thinking of proposing we move to Navan for travel management to the manager/CEO. But before I do that, I wanna cover all my bases and make sure I dont end up missing something.

We’re not a startup and we don’t have an IT department, so I’m mostly looking for something that just works and doesn’t need a huge rollout. I’d really appreciate hearing from small biz owners or ops folks who’ve used it.
