I’m looking to start a side business for consulting. I’m in the agricultural technology field and most of the services will include data analysis, trial management, and regulatory support. There are obvious costs like LLC formation, state filing fees, industry-standard software (accounting, MS Office, adobe, etc), web hosting, business banking fees, and general office supplies (computer and office are already owned). Our industry also uses specialty software for trial management. So far, it will be about $4k annually to get started.
What am I missing? Are there other costs I’m forgetting to include? Is my budget reasonable? Any other advice for someone who is brand new to the space?
