I run a small specialized agency and we’ve always had a great team culture. But recently, we had to let a guy go because of constant “no-shows.” He was barely at his desk half the week and it was dragging everyone else down.

The problem is, he went straight to Glassdoor and posted this massive, angry rant calling our office a “toxic environment” and saying we treat people like garbage. It’s 100% lies, but it doesn’t matter because whenever a potential candidate Googles our company name, that Glassdoor page shows up at #3, right under our LinkedIn.

I can literally feel the hiring process stalling. I’ve had two really talented candidates ghost us after a great first interview, and I’m almost certain it’s because they saw that review. It feels like this one person has hijacked my company’s reputation and I have no way to defend myself.

I’ve reached out to Glassdoor support, but they just said it doesn’t violate their “community standards.” It’s infuriating because my current team is happy, but a stranger sees that one post and thinks we’re a sweatshop.

Is there a way to actually push a Glassdoor page down or bury it? I’m looking for a way to reclaim our search results so we can actually hire people again. How do you deal with a high-authority site that’s basically hosting a lie about your business?
