I have a home services business. And hired a part time guy for afternoon and stuff after his day job.

Last week we did a job and we both got poison ivy. Which is annoying but part of working outside.

The other day he said he spent like $25 on pads / cream and what not so I sent him over $35. I felt like that’s a good thing to do.

He then has texted me like 2-3 times causally saying how much he’s not able to do much because of the poison ivy. Etc.

I wanted to see what other business owners would do in this situation. He’s a good guy and good worker but is he hinting I pay him? Or is he just venting? I mean I have it too and nothing much changed with my day to day.
