We’re a small commercial cleaning company trying to set up our first cold calling campaign. We’ve failed miserably.
I should have listened to the rude guy on Fiverr that said this is a very difficult niche. Anyway, below is our current process and challenges.
Anyone know a consultant?
How We Got the List Used Outscraper’s Google Maps scraper to gather business information from relevant categories (e.g., accountant) in our service cities. Ended up with 15,000+ businesses. Scrubbed the list by removing: Businesses not operational (based on “operational” column). Locations on the outskirts of our service area (labeled as “B list”). Types of businesses categories we’re unlikely to service (e.g., restaurants, most retail). Cold Calling Setup Reached out via Fiverr and posted a job on Indeed for a telemarketer. Settled on a pay structure: $15/hour, 4 hours/day, 4 days/week. $10 bonus per appointment set. Goal: Book appointments so we can provide onsite quotes and (ideally) close deals. Results & Issues Telemarketer made 150–200 calls. No one showed interest in a quote. Telemarketer felt the list was not effectively scrubbed or targeted—many leads weren’t a good fit. What We Need A consultant’s guidance on: Improving our lead list (further targeting, more effective scrubbing, or a different source). Adjusting our approach to cold calling (scripts, workflows, etc.). A better strategy to ensure we’re contacting businesses more likely to need commercial cleaning.
We’re pausing our current calling efforts while we seek expert advice. Our goal is to refine our process and relaunch the campaign with a better list and methodology.
Any guidance or professionals here?
