Let’s say I own a small boutique selling handmade, made-to-order niche clothing that’s expensive. It happens to be quite popular with theater, movie, TV productions and celebrity stylists. This is kind of a side effect and I do not reach out to these buyers on my own, they just find my shop. However they tend to make huge expensive orders which they end up returning just a few days after delivery. All the labor plus handling the expensive refunds is posing a risk to me.
The returns rate for normal shoppers is nearly zero and they stick to buying 1-3 items on average while stylists buy much more.
Is anyone having a similar issue or any advice how to deal with this? I thought maybe having a separate section on the site for commercial use or introducing rental fees, or just cancelling suspicious orders right away. Thoughts? Thanks!
