​Bigger company using my name

I’m sure this has happened to somebody else, I’m basically a one man show.I started my HVAC company in 16, I have a business license, My company has never had a bad review and I moved away two years ago, I would still return to my Hometown every other month to do installations.Because my name still gets around.I still have the license.. So I was notified that a medium-sized company in my area with not so great of a reputation was bought out and its new owner is trying to rebrand it. My company name, We have a mutual friend that apprised him that my company is already taken and he did it anyways, So far he has an instagram and a service vehicle with my company name on it. I immediately called my lawyer and and I have him dead to rights.. So this owner calls me yesterday and tried to take a dominant stance on how he owns this name, Basically acting like it’s his until I told him I have the license.It’s been mine for almost ten years, I told him he has till monday to come up with a intent to purchase letter and a offer a good one..

The company he bought is a bigger company.They probably have ten trucks and they’re pretty well known without the best reputation it’s an older company..

I’m thinking he should have to pay me thirty to forty thousand for my name. And if he doesn’t he’s going to get a cease and desist Along with a law suit for damages.. I worked very hard for almost a decade to have a good name.

Am I being unreasonable on the price? And has this happened anybody else..
