I am a jewelry artist and a stylist wants to pull from me to style a very well known musician. The musician has over 100million followers. I have checked if the stylist is legit. The celebrity has tagged them multiple times together with magazine shoots. I am so overwhelmed and really don’t know what to do! I feel honoured and don’t want to miss out on that opportunity. However making just 1 necklace takes me a long time. And they want me to send over around 10 handmade pieces. I have already calculated the material cost for me and it would be fine for me to invest that into “marketing”. The time I invest however will be more valuable for me. Through email contact they have made it obvious that they expect me to send it over for free. I totally understand that. But I am a little bit scared that I am sending it over and they will not wear it at all or use it in a shoot and I have lost hours of work + material + shipping services. All on me. What would you do ?
