Not exaggerating we’ve experienced:
Ladies dressing inappropriately or men “sagging” pants “Fresh out of bed” hair unbrushed wearing pajamas Significant body odor & bad hygiene Stale cigarette/weed odor Tee Shirts with offensive/inappropriate images & messages
Managers had a meeting & proposed that we tell the applicants, I came up with:
“If you plan to submit your application in person, please dress appropriately to make a great first impression. While formal attire is not required, we appreciate a neat and professional appearance. Thank you!!”
One manager stated their experience with an employee: “I told her, take a shower, put on appropriate clothes and come back. She was one of the hardest workers I’ve managed.”
I really don’t understand this thinking. Even if you were not raised by caring parents. Any functioning adult should know this.
Why is talking to people about appropriate dress necessary? Do we have to teach them how to wipe their asses too?
