Hey all
We are a fairly new store having been open 5 months. We do repairs on a number of things and have gone from a trickle to a deluge of work. Good times
Something I didnt think of was a policy around what to do when a customer abandons their goods. I have a drum kit controller on my self that has been here 3 months now.
I will make a policy around this so wanted to reach out to you guys and see if you have some tips?
For me this feels fair
5 reminders 1 when ready, 1 3 days later, 1 after a week, 1 after 2 weeks and one at the end of the month
After 3 months the item is placed in offsite storage
After 6 months the item is either destroyed or sold.
If an item is sold all money will be donated to the local foodbank. I dont want any whiff of profiteering or stealing near us sort of thing.
Does that sound like a fair approach to you?
It’s important to mention i am going after 5 star ratings hard. I dont want to be the cheapest place I want to be the best place and it seems to be working. The last thing i want is an irate customer but at the same time i cant just hold things forever
