I’m dealing with issues at our family business in a downtown area. Since taking over a year ago, my perspective on homeless people has changed. They harassed customers for money, stole drinks, used the sidewalk as a public restroom, and broke into our shop. Today, a guy came in multiple times asking for money, and when I asked him to leave, a customer got mad at me. I feel so frustrated with the situation. I’m trying to protect my staff and customers, and somehow I’m in the wrong.
The customer assumed I was being unfair based on that small encounter. We had been dealing with him all day, and all I did was ask him to leave. It’s impossible to please everyone who comes into the shop.
