Ideas into Reality
Listen I’m grateful for every opportunity and dime that has crossed my path since starting my business and I know that I have my own LLC and I have the title of CEO/Owner on my Linkedin and all but sometimes I’ll be honest it just feels like I’m back to being an employee with less benefits than before. It could just be my situation as I know mine may be different than some other peoples but it all started back a few years ago…. (initiate flashback)
I started my SEO business and things were moving well with me having a handful of clients and some successful case studies/results. Well I would post these results in some SEO focused Facebook groups and they would be things like pictures of successful analytics or maybe large jumps in overall keyword position essentially nothing too fancy but enough to get the conversation started. Well after doing this for some time I guess one of the members recognized me and talked to me about white labeling my SEO services under his company where I would essentially provide all the services, reports, and so on but he would deal with the client side and I guess mark my services up for a little bit of profit on his end. I agreed because why not, and since then we’ve worked together on maybe 30-50 different SEO projects which once again I’m very grateful for but after a while this feeling started to set in and I couldn’t really think about what it was. It almost felt like I was back in my old routine, the one I would do when I worked for an SEO agency out of college.
I mean I was literally just doing the work, reporting, sending it out to my “Boss” with no client interaction and then going from there month in and month out bringing me back to that feeling of being an employee except in this case I receive no health insurance, no 401k, and the list goes on and on. I don’t plan on ending the partnership and who knows maybe its just a rainy day bummer mood but man does it feel like I’m just another employee again. Does anybody else feel this way from time to time?
