I’ve read about countless ADA (Americans with Disability act) cases in this subreddit, and what’ll you know, finally got hit with one myself. I’m very tired of reading about businesses settling for thousands of dollars. I’d like to see what my options are. Who can I contact in my state (NY) to bring even more awareness about these frivolous cases? I’m sure at the end of the day my lawyers will suggest settling, but ultimately my goal is to bring more awareness of these cases that eventually there will be some sort of change, potentially giving small business a warning or time to remediate the issue, after all thats what this is about, remediating the issue not collecting a quick settlement. Would love to hear a good starting point on where to start on bringing the notice to state officials, or if there’s already a movement like this, where to back it up and show my support

edit: this is a very real lawsuit, already hit with a court appearance this is not some threat over email or something that isn’t legitimately filed with the state
