Why does it feel like clients who pay the least always require the most?

Listen, I’m not a pocket watcher and don’t look down or differently on anyone based on how much money they do or don’t make, but for some reason, I’m not sure if it’s just the clientele I’ve worked with recently. Still, it seems my clients who pay less always want more and more meanwhile the clients who signup for thousands of dollars never say anything it’s just a “Sounds good, thank you for your service” type of vibe.

Take my one client who’s paying my $600 a month for SEO, they fall on the lower side of the budget for clients I normally take on but they had an increase of 35% in traffic this last month. I reported this to the client along with the work completed and almost immediately the client began berating me asking me if I knew what I was doing, why this task was done for this, how he would do it differently, and why he expects more hours out of me despite not wanting to raise his budget. I mean listen I’m all for clients being involved but it got to a point where it’s almost like if you are an SEO expert like you claim why even hire me at this point?

Meanwhile, my other client paying me over $2,000 a month just saw a 10% increase, paid his invoice on time, and said “Wow thanks for all the work you’re doing”. I mean I get it right those with less money need it to work or are in desperate need but it’s a night and day difference between my clients and every time I encounter this problem with clients it’s always people who pay the least wanting to demand the most out of me. Does anyone else feel this way as well?
