Still can’t believe it happened! After running my niche fitness equipment store for 4 years, I just completed the sale and wanted to share my journey since this sub has helped me a lot.
Quick background: Started in 2019 with $15k savings, grew to $42k/month in revenue by 2023. Mostly automated with 2 VAs handling customer service and a solid 3PL relationship.
I wasn’t planning to sell, but got approached by a larger fitness brand looking to expand. Started exploring the process and realized I needed help to do this properly.
Key things that helped make it happen:
Used Ecomswap to handle the selling process (seriously Amazing Brokers) Had clean books from day 1 (thank god I listened to my accountant) Documented all processes in Notion Could prove consistent growth with solid margins Built strong relationships with suppliers
The whole process took about 8 weeks from listing to close. Having professionals handle the due diligence and escrow made everything so much smoother than I expected.
I’m sharing this because I’ve learned so much from others here. For anyone thinking of selling their online business – it’s totally doable if you prepare right and work with the right platform/people.
Now I’m taking a month off to travel, then planning to start something new. The entrepreneurial bug never goes away!
Happy to answer any questions about the process. And massive thanks to this community – you all rock!
