I run a startup where we just crossed $10M ARR. It took a lot of blood, sweat and tears to get to here. A lot of my tears over the past two years were spent on basic bookkeeping. I used two heavily funded bookkeeping companies for accounting and bookkeeping. First time my books were wrong. The second time the cost of bookkeeping went out of hands. Most of these VC funded companies gouge other startups and all their bookkeeping is done by interns or fresh grads who know nothing.

I was using Bench the first time when the numbers were plain wrong. Bench said I am making $180K profit per month when we really were making just $110K. I gave up the second time and decided to go for a boutique Bookkeeping service who don’t have to worry about growing 100% YOY and it is so wonderful.

My point and very strong advice to everyone here is to ditch these mega funded corps and find a small bookkeeping shop near you to manage your books.
