I opened my business a few weeks ago and it’s been great, very busy and doing well so far, which I’m grateful for…but no one ever leaves me the fuck alone.
I constantly get people stopping by to give me info about services I don’t want, leaving me prices on “sponsorships” where I pay them money to put up a sign with my name on it, wanting to talk to me in person about stuff I’m not interested in, etc. And I totally get it to an extent—that’s their business, how they get their clients and make money, but I just opened, let me breathe. And I will have people send me an email, then five minutes later send me a Facebook message, or vice versa because they didn’t even give me a chance to respond. I told one guy through email that I wasn’t interested in what he was selling and he literally asked me when I was open so he could stop by in person and leave me a card even though I just told him I wasn’t interested (and had all his info through the email, lmfao)
Sometimes it’s other businesses wanting to collaborate, the newspaper asking me questions for articles, etc. The only people I really never mind are the ones asking for donations because they’re usually for great causes that I’m more than happy to support.
I don’t want to come across as ungrateful, it’s just a lot!
Does anyone else ever feel overwhelmed with the amount of solicitation/people who are not customers wanting things from you?
