So one of my friend runs a small landscaping business and we were just talking the other day and somehow the topic of his bookkeeper came up.
He casually mentioned that she sends him a reminder every month for bank statements and receipts to prepare the tax and related things and he just… doesn’t do it until she becomes crazy following him up. I asked him why and he said “I don’t know man, I always mean to but then I forget about it.”
And the thing is he actually likes his bookkeeper. He’s not trying to make her life harder. He just said the process of finding everything and sending it over through the set up she prepared feels annoying enough that he keeps putting it off.
Is this normal? Like do most small business owners just make their bookkeeper chase them every month or is my friend just particularly bad at this?
