Back when we were just starting out we took on this small pizza place. built them a simple app that connected their delivery riders, the restaurant, and the customer in real time. order comes in, kitchen sees it instantly, rider gets assigned and dispatched, customer can track it the whole way. nothing fancy, just solid and functional.
we charged him bare minimum back then. needed the portfolio more then the money if im honest.
he walked in today all smiling and elated, hugged me before he even said anything. then showed us his numbers from the last six months. on time delivery up twenty percent, delivery accuracy up twenty percent too (we built metrics tracking for the owners app). said our app is the reason his regulars keep coming back.
now he wants a few new features added and hes ready to pay for it.
problem is we still havent figured out our pricing for existing clients.
do we stick to the old friendly rate since he was with us early, or charge based on what the app is actually worth to his business now.
what would you do ?
