My relative who is essentially a brother to me has offered me 51% of his jointly owned restoration business, he owns it currently with his friend and business partner who has agreed to this as well.
They both have 2 other businesses that do very well and gross around 10-15mil each per business. He has around 300k in equipment, 3 employees (2 restoration techs and 1 sales/operations manager), 5 vehicles and he said they are currently breaking even in terms of cost vs profit which includes 3 salaries.
With this I would assume the CEO role and take a 100k salary out of the gross income as well, likely would be letting the current operations manager go and assume that role myself. I currently do work for him as an operations manager at one of his businesses which is plumbing/excavation, I do sales and project management, last year I sold 50% of the companies work, made around 100k with commission.
Thoughts on this? I have always wanted to work for myself and own my own business, obviously I will need to sit down and go over the fine details but I feel like I wouldn’t ever get this opportunity again since they have already invested so much into it and it is operating not at a loss.
